I crawled out of my burrow yesterday for a morning walk after being snowed in most of January.

I had to be careful as the trails were quite icy. I've never before had the need to use spikes, so I do not own any.

One of the usual waterfall destinations. There was quite a bit more water flowing than I was expecting.

I carefully found my way down to the base of the falls. Interesting freeze patterns were everywhere one wanted to look.

I slipped and slid back to the trailhead and made my way back home, but not before picking up a pizza from Ohio Pie. A heavy pelting of rain/ice was falling just as was I nearing home. I decided winter is here to stay for a bit so I am crawling back into my burrow for an undetermined period of time. . . (I still have to venture out this afternoon to feed the cats at work ;) ).
 
I was originally going to hike across Red Butte this morning, but we got snow yesterday and I wasn't sure how much accumulated up top, so I did a quick hike up the Aves Twin Peaks instead. I needed to burn some calories to compensate for all the junk food I will be eating while watching the Super Bowl. :)

I thought that this was pretty cool. It looks like Frary Peak on Antelope Island is erupting like a volcano, or maybe just letting off
some steam.

Thanks for correcting me @Kmatjhwy. I thought it looked a little big for a hawk, but I wasn't expecting to see an eagle on the twin peaks, so just made an assumption that it was a hawk. I guess I was lucky to see it.
