The Maze via Jet Boat

I figure my options are to start at Golden Stairs, the Overlook, or do the boat thing to Spanish Bottom. The road out to Dollhouse just looks worse than the road out to the Overlook, and the route to the Overlook seemed to take forever.

Of course, it was made worse by the fact that a thunderstorm halted us for four hours right in the middle of some bad clay on the side of a cliff out by the Orange Cliffs.

They wouldn't let us drink on the boat the one time I tried.......

I liked the drive :)

Me too. And from the four way at Water Hole Flat, it doesn't take much longer than the hike up to Doll House from Spanish Bottom. Scenery is a hell of a lot better than the hike up from Spanish Bottom...

I got to drink on the boat on the way home. I bummed my first beer in five days from some generous rafters. Tecate never tasted so good. Our driver was awesome too. It was great to watch him handle some difficult conditions such as: a very full boat, very windy conditions, low water level, and some difficult passengers. I highly recommend Tex's from my experience.

I drank too and there were guys they picked up who were disappointed because the shuttle people were supposed to have brought them beer that they had paid extra to bring out for the ride back. Gotta be careful though... there's a downside about drinking 10 beers before getting on a bumpy 2 hour jet boat ride. :timebomb:
