The cats of Backcountrypost.com

Anything on the floor or chair.... Especially quilts the wife is working on become our cats property

You're a braver man than me @Ugly. I don't let my cats anywhere near my sleeping bags. I'm afraid they'll put holes in them. :)
My youngest cat occasionally launches onto the shoulders of her human cat tree. Unfortunately, I was wearing my old GoLite down jacket when she last unsuccessfully attempted this. She tore a several inch hole in the back (now repaired). I too keep my newer down sleeping bags away from the cats.

In the spirit of BCP tabbies (and the OGs of the cat world), I found this little one hanging out in my backyard. I live on the edge of National Forest, where outdoor cats have a low survival rate, so when I saw that no one was bringing him inside at night, I brought him into my house. He's had no interest in going back outside. TBD if the older sisters will get used to him, but he's otherwise enjoying down comforters, cat toys, and treats.

Sandy, right? :D

I was expecting something more like Boggy, Downfall, Fang, or Grizzly Hump. . . but Sandy and Glacier work. Congratulations on your new additions!

Close! :) If either were a male, I might have gone with one of those names. I actually had Glacier and Tarn already to go, but Sheila overruled me and said Tarn had to be Sandy - named for the city Sheila was born in.

I was going to say Glacier. Two torties! They're beautiful!

Thanks and good guess Skipper. I think Tarn would have been a great name too. :) I was browsing the KSL classifieds for pets and these two torties popped up. I asked Sheila if she was ready yet and she gave me the go ahead to get them. They were in pretty rough shape when we picked them up, essentially skin and bones, and very lethargic. I suspect the owners run some kind of kitten farm and didn't really take care of them very much. We took them to the vet and got them shots for parasites, and he gave us medicine for them that we had to administer for one week. They have perked way up in the last few days.

A pair of mischief.....

You're not kidding Bob. These two are sisters and are complete opposites. Glacier is hell on wheels all the time while Sandy is angelic and timid, kind of like the Scat himself.

Maple intently concentrating on one of our new arrivals (the tiny baby lizard)... we have a pretty successful brood of at least a dozen lizards in the backyard. Lucky for them, Maple sucks at catching them, but she dreams from the window most of the day with her tail swooshing.

Drying out my son and nephew's sleeping bags. She just cannot help herself.
