Take a breather, you've got a lot of stuff in there. I don't mean to be critical, I want to see this get the attention it deserves.

It'll take a little while to get tons of reads, then it'll take off like crazy.

I just think about web usability and design and how most people read the first two sentences, then scroll down to see how long they'll have to be reading, then leave if they're not interested. Seeing a huge body of text is a bit daunting. Maybe a landing page, or break up the text or something like that. The photos give your words so much validity, it'd be a shame if anyone missed them. I still can't get over the fact that you found these exact locations.

I appreciate it! It really doesn't matter to me. I didn't do this so that everyone would know...I just did it because we had talked about it on here and I thought some people might be interested! I just think it's cool if people are interested.

I tried posting it on Facebook and Facebook blocked the link saying elementfx.com was unsafe. I sent them a note explaining what the link was, but they probably wont ever see it. I sent it out on my other channels without any problems.

Yeah, I ran into that with that free webserver I used. I put a redirect on my server, but I'm afraid this will get a lot more traffic than my regular site, and I'm not really interested in getting attention from the regular general public on my own site!

My two cents - you've done the work, so draw some conclusions. The rhetorical questions leave readers with the sense you're not sure of your own findings. You'll probably get stronger response by making a case with your evidence.

I'm sure you're right. I wasn't complaining about the level of discussion, though. I'd rather generate no discussion than generate controversy. I'm a lover not a fighter

Back when I was in journalism I would have felt differently, I'm sure...now it's just the facts, ma'am

I figure someone else can use the research to generate the discussion...I'm gonna go hiking.

Just thought I'd extend kudos to you guys for awesome detective work. I'm not a backpacker, but found this thread by a rather circuitous route and was impressed by the lengths you went to track down the truth. I got into survival/prepping because I binge-watched Survivorman a year or so ago on Netflix and have always appreciated his apparent genuineness. Obviously your expose lets the air out of that balloon quite a bit. While I always wondered whether he was in as remote of an area as the show suggested, I never expected to find he was actually within a stones throw of a road and civilization.

FWIW, I came across BCP after watching Dual Survivorman on Netflix with Dave Canterbury and Cory Lundin. I recalled hearing that Canterbury had been booted from the show for embellishing his resume and did a search for it. A discussion forum somewhere had his video apology to which someone had replied that Les Stroud was at least the real deal. In reply, someone posted a link to @Nick's thread elsewhere on BCP and following all the links contained there, I ended up here. It was really a fascinating journey. I also appreciated the dedicated website with your findings.

Anyway, I saw the comment that no one was discussing your hard work so I figured I'd create an account and let you know that even if it's not being discussed, it is being read.
