Subway Bottom Up July 8, 2019

Both times I've been the pools were all filled with sand so all my photos lack any vivid colors. That's why I really enjoyed seeing yours. It's definitely a special place. Last time I got an early start and had the lower part all to myself. I look forward to going back there.
the last time I saw the pools so nice and vivid was in November 2015. So it was definitely time to have it back looking pretty again.

Awesome, fun trip! And great photo's! I got rained out last October during peak colors on what would have been my first time. Will try again this fall. Thanks for sharing, glad you had such good conditions. Cheers

This is amazing! Your shots of that place are as good as any I've seen.

thank you Will.
I went back on Thursday and added a few more shots.
Got a few nice keeper and some eye candy. :)

Selfie on the last turn

I really like this shot because it shows the dimensions of the place. The cliffs dwarf me and being integrated into the whole scene give a completely new perspective. I had to repeat it a few times until it worked out, lol.

Light from Above

The moment around noon when the sun is finally high enough to light up the pools. It was a small window of about a minute to take this shot and I really like the light rays coming down.

I guess this is so far the best jump shot I have
I had enough time to practice, lol

Not so bad for a cheap little Sony with a kit lens

Awesome photos

How do you carry your camera for something like this? A dry bag in your pack?

There are some creek hikes in KY that are fun, but it makes me nervous to take my good camera.

I have the camera wrapped around my neck. If the water gets too deep, it goes into a small dry bag.
I never drowned a camera by accident on water hikes. I fell in many years ago before I got my canyoneering shoes, but then you just play Lady Liberty and hold your arm with your camera high into the air. Looks funny, but worked well.
With my canyoneering shoes and boots I never had any issues of slipping or falling into the water
