Well, I was back with the Wasatch Mountain club today to knock off a peak I hadn't climbed before named Storm Mountain. Our approach was via Ferguson Canyon, and instead of the traditional route to the top from the southeast once at the top of the canyon, we approached the summit from the west for some nice scrambling opportunities along with a touch of exposure. It took us four hours to reach the top where we ate lunch. While up top, storm clouds began to gather so we made our way down the traditional route and ended up getting rained on.

I’m a lookin.. and I’m a lichen.

Seriously though, I don’t doubt you or your club’s decision-making one bit. But that photo you captioned “starting the climb down” looks sketchy!

It's really not that bad. Just after my son, you turn back to the west and it is pretty straight forward.

Nice one @scatman !! Although I am disappointed that a kilt was not worn, I can understand why it could problematic on that cliff scramble/climb.

Oh my gosh...this trip report gave me anxiety haha
Amazing what people can do! This was probably a casual thing for your group, but comes across as very brave to someone like me! :twothumbs: Thanks for sharing!

It wasn't the scrambling that kept me from wearing the kilt, it was the trail conditions. Some of the trail has quite a bit of brush growing out into it and I did not want to get my legs all scraped up - plus the bushwhacking portion. I know, I'm getting soft in my old age. :(

You'd have done just fine, I'm sure. :twothumbs:
