Spring Break mid March, but where to go?

this would be so cool!!! But either way works for me.
And I would really love to take some night shots of that place. One of the many reasons I want to return.

Indeed! I got the okay from my boss, so we're good to go.:D I haven't been to that area at all yet, so I'm really looking forward to checking it out. There are a few others items of interest I'd like to see, as well. Whitney Pockets, Keyhole (Seven Keys) Canyon, Kohta Circus Panel, and the Falling Man Panel are all in the vicinity. Maybe we could check out some of that stuff during the day, and make sure to get to Little Finland by late afternoon to spend the night.

Great news!!!! :twothumbs:

Lisa, I've been to many of your mentioned places, I recently went to Kohta Circus Panel. Have GPS coordinates of the place. I still need to go to Falling Man panel and Keyhole Canyon. The whole area is basically on my list to visit and redo stuff.
One advice, bring a wide angle lens for Kohta and your longest lens for the panel high above the Kohta panel. You definitely need both.
The high panel is an extremely beautiful one.
I guess you noticed my pics of my trip on Facebook? I went there with the local Red Rock Hiking Group.

What about the roads? Are they eventually doable by bike? This could be an option for a point to point hike instead of two shuttle vehicles.

The roads are definitely doable by bike, but only if you are up for a 40 mile or so ride back to your car

Be sure to visit the Lost Palms Oasis in the southeast corner of the Park and definitely try to get a sunrise in at Keys View, especially if you have your camera gear

There is no gate on the way to Little Finland...I just camped there last night.

perfect!!! Thanks for confirming that and the update, I really appreciate it. Have fun and I'm looking forward to all your great pictures.

Thanks Tim. I decided against this hike because of a lacking second vehicle. Should do it with a bike, but seriously I'm too lazy to ride 40 miles back. With 10 or maybe 20 miles I would do this. Lost Palms Oasis is on my list and one of the hikes I really want to do. Beside that I guess some of the shorter hikes like Lost Horse Mine Loop, Barker Dam.
And I will spend some time just bouldering near the Jumbo Rocks. :)
