This is a few years old, but I got some decent photos and had near perfect riding conditions, so I thought I would share. I need to do this on my MTB next time.

Logistics
Starting point: Moab near the rec center
Direction: clockwise
Distance: ~145 miles
Permit: online day permit (available up to 24 hr hours in advance)
Bike: WR250R (modified with a 4.7 gallon desert tank)

Very nice! Didn't realize there were such things as bike permits, cool to know!
Thanks for the share!

Cool report, Fossana! I've ridden it on bicycle a half dozen times and driven it on 4 wheels a couple of times. I plan to ride it on a moto-powered two wheeler some day too and am shopping a suitable vehicle now.

BTW solo, supported, in-a-day on a human powered two wheeler is a worthy goal that I could support ;) In fact, have supported for a few friends. Unsupported, well that may be a little crazy.....

Have you ever climbed out there? One of my last nemesis I have to clear is getting 3/4 of the way up the original route on Washer Woman Tower and bailing due to rain...

What was your gas consumption experience and reserve plans?

@Artemus
I think as long as it's not too hot, White Rim in a day isn't horribly out of the question, maybe Shafer to Dead Horse, not from Moab proper. I have not yet climbed in Canyonlands (have other climbed other Moab towers though), but really want to do Washer Woman.

I have a 4.7 gallon desert tank, so didn't bother to pay attention to fuel consumption. I have used MSR type fuel bottles before I got the tank, and some other friends use the plastic stackable fuel containers.

Did you notice how much fuel you had left over?
