I just lead a trip though the monument and up to the yurt in Cedar Breaks. We were hoping for a little snow, but NOAA was wrong again and we had bluebird skies. The group I was leading were Southern Utah University students who had never shoed before. They all did awesome!!

It was a nice, quite day we hiked along the rim and had a great view of the breaks. A big thanks goes out to the group that broke trail for us.

The only other group we saw was the winter rangers who were also leading a trip (great folks). We set up a game of Frisbeener (Polish Horseshoes) or if your Canadian Beersbee, behind the yurt. After a few dives into the snow we warmed up with some hot cocoa in the yurt.

Anyone who is interested in a trip: the yurt is open Fri-Sat. it's free to the public. There are great skiing opportunities as well. The winter rangers lead guided tours every Sat. and SUU Pace Setters occasionally offer trips as well.
