I’m thinking about doing a hike around Shoshone Lake in Yellowstone. I’ve read that the water that you must cross in the Lewis Channel can be deep, and tapers off as the summer progresses. I’ve also read that it’s swampy around the south end, again, until later in the summer. I realize that this will be different In different years, but can anyone who has hiked in the area shed some light on when that swampy area should dry out, at least some, and when does the Lewis Channel crossing usually mellows out? Thanks in advance. Pringles
