Professor Creek / Mary Jane Canyon - mid April?

I'm checking out possibilities for day hikes after our upcoming trip in the Needles (and hopefully Fiery Furnace) and am interested in Professor Creek / Mary Jane Canyon. It would be very convenient with our driving route. Any thoughts about what conditions might be like in mid-April this year? Would it be crowded on a Saturday?
