Pieps DSP Avalanche Transceiver Upgrade offer

Any winter enthusiasts own a Pieps DSP Sport or Pro avalanche transceiver? I received an email from Backcountry.com (where I purchased mine) yesterday with the following offer to upgrade my transceiver to one of their latest generation models. My understanding, from some social media posts I've seen over the past few weeks, is that they have found a defect with some of these models that can cause it to not send out a signal in the event of an avalanche. There is more controversy surrounding this and whether the company is doing enough to notify their customers that I won't get into, but I'm curious if anyone here has one of these models and if you've taken them up on their offer to upgrade? I sent an email today but have not heard back yet. I'll post here if I get a response.
