Ideal conditions for a 4-day backpack down the Paria Canyon from Whitehouse to Lees Ferry last week. High temps in the low 80Fs, ankle deep water, spring water everywhere, and after day 1 we seemingly had the canyon to ourselves. Night 1 we camped just below Buckskin Gulch @ mile 8, night 2 near the mouth of Wrather Canyon @ mile 20, and night 3 below a beautiful old cottonwood near mile 30. We hiked up Buckskin a bit and also to Wrather Arch. Big Spring and Shower Spring were both flowing nicely and water was coming out of Wrather and Bush Head Canyons along with many other seeps and springs along the way. Gaia track said we walked 45 miles total.
Trip far exceeded my expectations and was a welcome respite from the rain for these two Alaskans.
