Noob looking for solitary beauty in canyon lands, san rafael, escalante

Ive spent a lot of time in every type of territory imaginable. I want my boys to have the same experience. The places I use to go are now over run with....well ya know. Ive got a hankering for an adventure and am interested in any suggestions.

Welcome. You could check into Upper Salt Creek or Coyote Butte. I'm not the best person for advice in that area but those trip reports seem to be very cool and come up a lot. My first trip to Canyon Lands was Upper Salt Creek and was due in large part to this site. Time of year and other factors like your boy's ages and abilities should also be considered but those places are a start I guess.

We used to hike with friends and their kids in Mule Canyon and Upper Johns Canyon on Cedar Mesa. Easy access and hiking to beautiful pools and ruins.
October thru early November would be best, we had kids ranging from 6-10.
