Steve the noob checking in from Calgary, Alberta. I've been lurking around here a bit, after coming across BCP whilst searching the web for reports and info from the Utah desert. This seems to be the place.
Our usual habitat is the Canadian Rockies.
Prior to winter's icy blast (as you can see, it's not all bad), we usually extend summer by heading south to the Colorado Plateau in October, for a couple of weeks of camping and hiking. After 9 desert trips since 2003, we still can't get enough.

That's me on the right, with my wife Jo.
