after I accomplished my goal of 500 hiking miles the past weekend (whoot, whoot !!! ) I stayed with friends in Zion until it was dark enough and took a few night shots with the half moon lighting up the cliffs.

Working on a trail guide and I found this single exposure botched star trail that I took at Carolyn Lake in the Uintas on a hike to Four Lakes Basin in 2011. In retrospect, I kind of like this shot. I totally over-exposed it and lost most of the stars (full moon) and was having issues with my lens fogging up but it kind of gave it a weird feel.

No, almost nothing was blooming down in the Gulch. I was surprised by that, too, but it was pretty cold at night.
