New dams proposed for Little Colorado River/Grand Canyon

Fully on the Navajo Reservation. Interesting. They're probably in for a hell of fight if this proceeds very far at all.

Edit: Wow. I just looked at a few trip reports from that area. The blue water is incredible. It's disappointing that anyone would even think to dam up a place like that.

It's also an area of huge spiritual and cultural significance to the Navajo. I would say I don't quite understand why some are so eager to flood it but poverty is rife on the rez and I guess everyone loves money?
