Mt. Washington and Mt. Monroe - White Mountain National Forest, NH

Finally got back up the White Mountains in my back yard (2 hours away) here in NH, and hiked to the highest point in the northeast, Mt. Washington. It was an awesome hike, and I've been bitten by the hiking bug again, hoping to knock off a few more of our 4,000 footers (I've done 27/48 so far). A big difference from the 14ers in Colorado

Awesome blog entry. Looks like you got a nice clear day at the summit. Those are rare. I drove up the Mt. Washington auto road about 2 weeks ago and even though it was a sunny 80 degree day, we entered the clouds about 1,500 ft before the summit and it was a windy 38 degrees with visibility of about 10 ft at the summit. Couldn't see a thing.

It was a perfect day all around, we totally lucked out!
