When I drive up Little Cottonwood canyon I see a lot of cool looking waterfalls, especially on the south side. I've hiked a lot of the traditional trails... Red Pine with its many destinations, White pine and all of the hikes up in Albion basin. I am wondering if there are some hikes to any of those waterfalls that I see from the road like the big one that I think is pouring out of Maybird gulch? Is it all just bushwacking to some of those?

I haven't hiked up Red Pine, Maybird, or Hogum from the bottom but people who have done these say that they're steep and also a thrash, and also you need to cross the LCC stream, perhaps no problem by now?

Are you stuck specifically on LCC? If you don't mind leaving the canyon proper, go just north to Bell Canyon. Plenty of waterfalls there.

If you park outside the campground (can't recall the name at the moment) you can walk through and see a couple waterfalls. As mentioned before the others you see would be a lot of bushwacking as those areas are meadows. I do know there is a faint trail off of the red pine trail that heads down into the meadows likely allowing more access.

Thanks for all the reply's. We were staying at Snowbird for a couple of nights and trying to stay in LCC. Just ended up walking around up by the Bird and a little up around Alta. Still lots of snow at Alta so we didn't go to Cecret Lake. Back to work now so thanks again for the help.

Did Bell Canyon recently. Looking for a new one. Thanks though. That is a great hike by the way

Did you go all the way up or just to the lower falls?

Just to the lower falls. Had my youngest hiking buddy with me and we started kinda late.

watched the sunset from the lower falls. Then hiked out in the dark. Lucky we planed ahead and had head lamps. I've been told I need to go back and get to the top

Very cool. Sorry to derail your thread.
