Lake Powell and the 'return' of Glen Canyon

Without delving into controversy....the argument that Powell is necessary to generate electricity will become moot if the reservoir drops 30 more feet or so, to minimum power pool level. That seems realistic over time if it lost 40 feet just last year.
 
can we still bring Hayduke out of retirement? he'd be getting pretty old I guess
 
The idea to empty Powell continues to gain some steam.

I wonder what kind of a response this idea gets from people who live nearby - what's the ratio of supporters to opponents? Does anyone know?
 
To those whom most depend on Powell, largely the town of Page for their power and water, I'd say they have the biggest hurdle to deal with right now. But as @John Morrow pointed out, if the level descends below power generation capacity in the next couple of years, it may all be a moot point and the climate cycle will make the decision for them.
