In an attempt to gain a little fitness and the fact I had been trying to get out here for awhile, I managed to hit a good weather window.

Abundant rain this season has put the desert in full bloom mode and even where the flowers were absent the ground was covered in green. I saw no one once I got off pavement and I took an extra day at the Gilbert Canyon - James Bay camp to paddle in the narrows area of Lake Mead. Ok, ya got me. I did see a couple boats go by but they were far enough away I couldn't see their captains. So technically, I saw no one.

Judging by the rock art and skyline you did some biking on the jeep roads of the south side of the lake? I feel like I recognize that panel because of the newer superimposed less patinated petroglyph (namesake canyon?) Super cool trip. Don't recognize the dryfall.

You got it. I recognized your shots as well. There are several small dryfalls, easily climbed both up and down in lower Gilbert Canyon that drops into James Bay.
