Jones Hole in Dinosaur National Monument

Last week my 19-year old son and I went backpacking in Jones Hole. We setup a base camp about a mile or so bellow the National Fish Hatchery at Ely Creek then made day-hikes from there. Here are som pictures.

Thanks for the report, it is a special place for sure.

Sorry you struck out fishing, the largest trout I ever caught was on a fly there in the Hole.
It is a good reminder I need to get my kids there to enjoy it.

I think the water levels were too high and too cold. We saw a lot of fish in the creek but they were not very active and didn't want what we were offering.

I'd definitely recommend taking your kids there. I've got a granddaughter and grandson who would love it too. The hiking around the creek was very easy.
