I have a mountain hardware softshell jacket that has a zipper that is separating. It isn't a sewn section, but was either glued or maybe melted together?

Any suggestions on how to fix this? I suppose I could sew it back together, but wondering what else might work.

Could be heat tape....iron it carefully .... id just sew the entire zipper

There's specific fabric glue you can use if the original glue is gone. Sewing probably stronger but my sewing skills are minimal at best...

Seam Grip has worked well for me through multiple washes for things like adhering patches to down jackets, but in this case you have something under tension. On top of that, an adhesive may not adhere well to whatever heat tape was used previously. Sewing would be the most foolproof.
