Is there anyway to generate/include the size attributes for image tags within a post? Here's the scoop...

I'm often on a relatively low-bandwidth connection. When I read a post, the text/content is constantly popping farther down the page as it loads the embedded pictures. For an initial trip report I usually just open in a new tab and wait a bit and come back later. BUT... when I want to follow up on a thread and read the replies this process gets really tedious. It's impossible to read with all the re-adjustments to the page as the pics load (they don't seem to cache) . I hate repeating the process each time to check in on one or two new replies. I *think* the size attributes would fix this by reserving space for the images as they load -- and thus freezing the layout of the rest of the page. Maybe.

(I realize I'm a minority with my crappy connection!)

Thanks,

I'll see if there's a way to make that a user option. For the majority with a fast connection, big images are nice. But it would be awesome to be able to set that as a preference. I'll report back with what I find.

Oh yeah -- I like the big images too. It's just a matter if the post generator can insert width and height attributes into the tag. Not sure how it works behind the scenes here, but in general <img src='my_big_pic.jpg'> will only take one line until it's loaded whereas <img src='my_big_pic.jpg' height='768' width='1024'> will actually go ahead and draw the frame (moving subsequent text down) and then fill in the frame when the image is ready. This prevents a page from popping/expanding as pics load.

No biggie if it can't happen.

Thx.

I see the same thing when accessing BCP from my phone.

I have a slow connection too. Usually I just wait a few minutes until all pictures are visible and then start to read.
But compared to the crappy wireless connection I had in Germany recently my slow connection was like heaven
