Halls Creek Loop. 2 Days, or 3?

Heading out from Grand Junction (4 Hour Drive) to Halls Creek Narrows next month and wondered about camping spots/and whether 2 or 3 days is more appropriate for the loop.
Looks like its roughly 23 miles, and I have heard hiking through the Grand Gulch to the start of the narrows loop and setting up camp is a good idea. Any preferences?

At least 3 unless you just like to run through and not really take things in.

We camped as you stated and it was a really nice trip for 2 nights/3 days.

My next question would be, regarding the camp spots near the Cottonwood trees before the start of the loop. Are there more than one camp spots in case another group is out there at the same time?

Are there any other spots other than the big spot under the overhang before the narrows?

There are plenty of places you could make camp before entering the narrows.

You could always do the airport route and trade the sand slog for the scramble down & back up.

3 days gets my vote. We dropped the camping gear and stayed 2 nights at the Fountain Tanks (good water), dayhiking the Narrows from there. If the tanks are dry, clear water appears downstream in the main wash.
