Hiked up to the Hadley Mountain Fire Tower today. Pretty windy up at the summit so I didn’t linger there. Black flies were out on the lower parts of the trail but they weren’t biting.
Looking up the trail … no switchbacks in the Adirondacks!
Looking back down the trail from the same spot
A lonely trillium along the trail
Trout lily
The fire tower
Great Sacandaga Lake off the distance
Caretaker’s cabin … not many of these remain by the fire towers that are still standing
Fire tower and the cabin
3.5 miles r/t, 1503 feet of elevation gain … not quite a Scattastic Utah type venture but it definitely made me sweat!
