Guess the spot

WAGs of Holland Lake or Painted Rocks. I cannot make either one fit the picture but I'll give those a shot.
 
Looks like a nice area to hang out for the weekend. I have driven past it several times and never knew it was there.

I'll post something tonight unless someone else wants to jump in.
 
Oh wait wait wait wait - I know this one!! I know it's one of the many in Bechler area of Yellowstone. Iris?
 
I was about to post a hint that "this is not in Bryce Canyon nor Cedar Breaks" but now I am going to skip that hint, because....

Wow, great eye! Yes, there are at least 2 sweetgum trees in that photo! And Wikipedia suggests that this is the normal range of the sweetgum tree:

So.... no guesses? No interest?

Are people too busy out backpacking, or unable to guess? I'll give it another day or two, and then punt.
