Green Chile Sauce - Elevate those breakfast burritos to a new level

Since I proposed it, I guess I should add the first resource to the collection. Here's the recipe I use for green chile sauce. It's fantastic stuff, great on breakfast burritos, tacos, enchiladas, etc. Try it once and you'll be hooked. It's great while camping or at home.

Green Chile Sauce

  • ¼ c. olive oil (vegetable oil ok)
  • ¼ chopped onion (brown or white)
  • 1 lb roasted, peeled & seeded green chiles
  • 4 rounded TB flour
  • ¼ ts cumin
  • 1 c. milk
  • ½ c. chicken...

Nice! I've been really loving store-bought green chile sauce lately (El Pinto and Private Selection from Smith's are surprisingly good), but would love to make my own. I'll have to try this recipe one day this winter, if I can find fresh chiles locally.

Mmm. Green chile! I like it with pork but that recipe with chicken sounds good. I agree that it's hard to find it locally though. My dad usually ends up bringing me some when he visits from Denver. Anyone have a good source around here? Fresh or frozen?

And I'll have to try the El Pinto and Private Selection brands. I'm not opposed to some canned chile! =)
