I have a permit to backpacking permit for Grand Gulch to go from the Collins Trailhead to Kane Gulch. Are there companies or individuals that help with shuttles? Specifically I would like to have someone pick me up at the Kane Gulch Ranger station and take me to the Collins Canyon trailhead. Any recommendations are sincerely appreciated.

You could try Wild Expeditions in Bluff. It will probably be really expensive. Also getting in a vehicle w/ someone you don't know would be problematical w/ rapidly spreading Omicron virus.

Thanks for the info. I will check them out. The trip is not until early April. Hopefully we will be in another covid lull by then...

By April there will be so many hikers at the VC you probably could get someone to drive you. You could almost certainly find someone to give you a ride back to the VC if you hike in the reverse direction.

@Diane, did you end up getting a shuttle? If so, I'd love to find out who you used and if you recommend them. We're considering Collins to Kane for next April.

Hi Janice,

Here are two reliable shuttle operators:

1) Wild Expeditions -- located in Bluff -- my contact was:
Dallin Tait / General Manager
Cell: 435-485-0496 / Office:435-672-2477
dallin@riversandruins.com
dallin@bluffdwellings.com

Their website only lists river shuttle -- send them an email to get information regarding pricing for Grand Gulch Shuttles

2) Val's San Juan Shuttles -- https://www.valssanjuanshuttles.com/ - vals2019shuttle@gmail.com Val is great

You might also want to contact the Blanding and Bluff Chamber of Commerce/Tourism Offices to see if any new shuttle operators are now available. There are various outfitters that have been on the list in the past. Unfortunately most of them are no longer in operation.

I can also help with some advice on the trip. Send me an email or message me.

Best,
Diane
