Hi everyone,
I recently had the chance to trek through the Siguniang Mountains in Sichuan, and it was a truly humbling experience. Adjusting to the altitude at 3,200 meters wasn't easy—it really made me appreciate the importance of pacing and proper layering.
The landscape is absolutely stunning, but it was certainly a test of physical and mental stamina. I kept a detailed log of the trek, including the specific gear that worked best for me during those fluctuating temperatures and the challenges I faced with the ascent.
I've documented the full trip, along with some photo highlights and my personal takeaways on gear, over on my blog here: Finding My Rhythm at 3,200 Meters
Has anyone here tackled high-altitude treks in Asia? How do you guys manage your pacing when the air starts getting thin? Would love to hear your experiences and tips.
Also, I managed to visit the famous Jiuzhaigou Valley during this trip, and the scenery was breathtaking. I'm sharing one of the photos I took there below to give you a taste—I'm currently working on a full write-up for that part of the trip and will share it once it's ready.
The water in the lake was so clear that it felt like I wasn't even on Earth. I swear, it’s the clearest water I’ve ever seen in my life.
