Trail maintenance in Canyonlands National Park


WORK ENVIRONMENT: Incumbent must be able to live and work efficiently in an isolated backcountry area in close contact with a small number of people for extended periods of time. Work is performed out-of-doors in all types of terrain with an elevation of approximately 7,000 ft. and weather conditions becoming extremely hot or cold. Assignments involve exposure to dust, insects, rodents and reptiles. Hazardous conditions may exist when moving rocks, working in and around rock slide areas, falling and bucking trees and working around machinery.
