I saw the comment and thought I would upload something my son and I did to kill time over Christmas break. We just made the stand from stuff we found in the hardware isle at Wal-Mart.

Cool. Maybe use a few well placed rocks around the canister (instead of the small angles) to support the stoves weight. I often just use 3 rocks arranged in a square (leave one side open to insert wood), maybe 4" square. Set the pot on top and bingo, instant stove. It takes a little longer.

Another option is to stuff the inside with toilet paper and put holes down the side so they are not covered by a pot. The can is strong enough to hold the weight and then some. The toilet paper prevents spilling of fuel if tipped sideways.

But ya...rocks seems like the best option.
