North of Tule Desert lay the Clover mountains, in the transition zone of the Mojave Desert and the Great Basin. The Tule Desert itself contains a very nice Joshua Tree forest, and has nice views of surrounding peaks and ridges. Dirt roads crisscross the Tule giving access to any number of hikes, either thru the J-tree forests or up and along ridges to high points. This was a ramble on the Clovers southern side starting in the upper reaches of Garden Wash. After a short walk thru an old burn and past a spring I got out of Garden wash and scrambled ridges for the nice views. It'll be time to hibernate pretty soon, nights are still cool, and days slowly ramp up to near 80, but were marching towards 110 and the lower Mojave will soon be out of season.

More Garden Wash and Lime Mountain. Always a nice view and a near constant companion.
