For the last 7 years I have driven from Hurricane to St George using I-15 and for 7 years I have planned, and wanted to hike to the crazy honeycomb/talfoni weathered hoodoo visible from the freeway and finally I was able to run to the Church Rocks (ran out of time so didnt get as close as I wanted oh well another day)

I started just off the Washington Parkway exit and used the Grapevine Trail to access the Prospector Trail to access the Church Rocks Trail.

All of these trails are typically used more by mountain bikers than hikers but they are great trails for some easy running/hiking. I ran just under 6 miles with a total elevation gain of about 600 ft. They are also full sun so be prepared! You wont want to hike this area in summer unless it is pretty early!

The Church Rocks trail was by far the best of the three. It is a loop with the top section across slickrock following cairns, and the bottom section right along the cliff face. This is one of the better places to see the honeycomb weathering I keep mentioning!
