I leave tomorrow morning for Spain, to hike a version of this with my daughter who currently lives in Switzerland. If you are interested in following our progress, I'm going to try to post it all on our website blog. Here's the first entry: https://www.backpackthesierra.com/post/camino-de-santiago

I should be back just in time to teach my first class in the middle of August...if all goes according to plan. I'd love to hear comments and suggestions...

An update: day one.

What it's like to hike in a sauna

Two days to go: after 273km, we've only got 47 to go on the Camino Primitivo de Santiago with my daughter. And a birthday on the way!

We are finished! We limped into Santiago amid hugs and celebrations. A wonderful adventure with a amazing daughter: https://www.backpackthesierra.com/p...-disaster-and-santiago-and-the-field-of-stars
My wife did that route in 2013 in May/June when she was 61. She is also fluent in Spanish but the weather was never a problem because of when she went. However she did the Del Norte to Oviedo and then did your section. I believe overall she did around 575 miles. Last year I did a route with her from RIbadeo to Ferrol on the Ruta do Mar and then the Camino Ingles to Santiago. It was my first Camino, her fourth, and was incredible.
