Went for a drive this afternoon, puttering along some of the same roads I've driven over and over probably hundreds of times over the years of living here.

Corn crib at a farm where some people I went to school with lived for a while. The place is slowly falling back into the earth these days.

This is just a tree on a hill, but I like it.

Got stuck at a rural train crossing for a while this morning.

Spent some time hanging out in this shelter built by the CCC at a local state park. Photo taken before a thunderstorm rolled through, which made me appreciate the handy roof to hang out under.

A couple from last week, featuring interesting surface cracks and drainage channels created by some rain (first time in our 23 years up there!) and warm temps overnight, forming a crust that was still skiable to varying degrees.

One of the best things about photography is that there's always room to experiment and develop your own way of seeing the world. Gear and technique matter, of course, but learning to notice interesting moments and being willing to try something different can make a huge difference. I enjoy communities where photographers share ideas openly and challenge each other to improve. That creative mindset is also reflected in projects like Lisbon Photographer, where photography becomes a way to capture the character and atmosphere of a place rather than simply record what it looks like.
cool photo!
