Very true. Personally I like the hybrids w/o a zipper.

I still like the bag/use as quilt if warranted idea. Quilts are somewhat lighter, but I like the extra safety factor.

Price shock definitely worse with rampant inflation lately. Hurt when I paid $375 for my WM Versalite some 23 years ago. Now $670. Still in great shape.
2 lbs, comfortable to 20F with a good pad - hard to beat when those temps are a real possibility.
