Gorgeous! If you're willing to provide date and location, I'd appreciate it. We're hoping to hike Silver Falls/Choprock next fall, and I'd love to hit it at peak color - like this! I know every year is slightly different, but the info would still be helpful.

In 2021 I was in the Upper Gulch and Escalante river near the bridge at peak fall colors on October 30th and 31st.

Elevation is always a factor, but the Escalante area cottonwoods start to yellow mid-October, peaking the end of October most years. At lower elevation below 40 mile, I had some yellow still at Thanksgiving 4-5 years ago.
For the loop you speak of, you do not just need leaves to be blown away

First 3 are October 19 near the Escalante River and Hwy 12. Second 3 are from the Needles district on the 25 and 26th.

Helpful - thanks. @regehr had previously said Oct. 20 might be a good time to see cottonwood color (further downstream). So through a combination of all this info, I'm thinking we'll go sometime between the 20th - 31st. But now I have to wait almost a whole year - bummer!
