Autumn Colors 2024

My backyard this morning (W. COLO.) - the purple and red are lilac leaves.

I did the Beacon Hill loop this morning and there were a few fall colors that I thought were still worthy.

Always like those red hillsides, especially along Hwy 6.
Last call on Tuesday afternoon? The trails were already covered in gold, and gusty winds are in this afternoon's forecast.

Things were feeling rather dry and crispy this year until some rain moved in last week. Some trees had already dropped their leaves without much of a color change, but those that held on are now showing some nice yellows, oranges, and reds.

Not many colors hanging on now, most way past their prime, but there were a few on my Van Cott Loop hike yesterday.

There is still plenty of yellow in the desert.








and some non-yellow...

A couple of quick miles after work yesterday. The sun is setting too quick, and will only be worse after this weekend... Ugh.




Almost able to see Broads Fork Twins...


The drive was great.




I have seen enough Jurassic Park to know what this is

Autumn colors are nearly perfect in the Nine Mile Canyon area today.

Only one shout out on my Avenues Twin Peaks hike this afternoon.

Prescott, Az. Cottonwoods are turning yellow.






And the puffy coats kept us warm this weekend!
