That story shows up from time to time, it seems to be a part of WInds lore now. In 2013 I hiked through the Brown Cliffs/Bloody Hell pass, and we stopped for snacks by the tarn where Mike Turner got trapped. It was unsettling to think of what happened there. We sat with good weather and pikas running all around. It's a very rocky and challenging route, easy to see how that kind of thing could happen there.

If I recall the story correctly, the closer lake in this photo is the spot, but I no longer recall my source for that info, so believe me at your own discretion.

Bstark....Think youre correct. Our traverse was that next year. One reason to not be solo.
