So I kinda peaked in here to see why someone was cursing lightroom... then went off to look into lightroom and saw that adobe has this creative cloud deal where for a monthly price gives you access to a bunch of stuff... have any of you ever tried that?

We use Creative Cloud at my work. The regular price is probably cost prohibitive to the average home user, but I think you can get it for $20 or $30 per month if you have a student/faculty discount. Still not cheap. I really wish Adobe would pull their heads out and come up with a reasonable price structure for normal people to use their software rather than charging so much that the vast majority acquire it illegally and only a few pay. I guess Creative Cloud is a start.

Yeah $50 a month seems pricey but it gives you a ton, that is updated regularly. Pay that every month for internet and I don't regret it. By the way good idea to see if they have faculty discount. I sometime forget that I get that option with some company's.

HA!!! $20 bucks a month for intro (12 months) then $30 after.

I moved the Creative Cloud convo into it's own thread. I'm finally upgrading to it today because the rest of my team is on CS6 and I've been on 5 and I'm hitting too many snags trying to edit Illustrator files from the newer version. Just checked and BCP has a sponsorship type agreement with Adobe. You can actually get the student version for $14.99 for the first year right now.

Check it out:
