I had tickets to attend a concert down in Vegas but of course could not leave that as my only plan for the day. 100 degree temperatures just days after being in 50s up in SLC truncated my original plan to spend a day exploring Valley of Fire into an hour seeing "The Fire Wave."
Despite the temperature being just under 100 degrees, a stiff wind and the easy access made the visit to this cool geological feature nice. These little freaks of sandstone make me love the red rock desert so much. The lighting was also pretty good so I like how the pictures turned out.
The Fire Wave is definitely worth a visit and views from the road and parking lot will probably draw me back to do some more exploring of the park. Just not until the winter.
