Just opened my mail and thought of this thread. I have $200 in gift cards as well so i’m thinking of replacing my car camping tent. Any suggestions on something that’ll sleep 2 adults and 2 dogs? Something around 7x7?

I have the REI Half Dome 4. I love it! Its my car camping tent. You would easily fit 2 people and two dogs in there. Get the footprint and it will last forever. I've even taken the family on short trips backpacking with it. I've used it in both desert and alpine environments. Really easy to set up.

I would never forgive them for that stance! I don't like their recent stance against Vista. Could we get to the root cause? Mental health instead of blaming. Just disappointed.

I have the credit card and made quite a few large purchases this year (not backpacking related) which made for an unusually large dividend this year. As it happens I’m just starting to snowboard, so I put it toward a jacket, helmet, and goggles (bought a board and boots elsewhere).

I got about $25. Most of the stuff I buy is at the garage sales (backpack, sleeping pad, trail runners). I do have some gift cards. Might try to find a pair of hiking pants that don't fall down all the time. I like the convertible pants, but I'd really like double convertible ones. Pants to shorts, then shorts to thong. For those really hot days.
