2016 REI Dividends

We only pay it once per month and we have never paid any interest on anything. I'm not sure what's up with that review.

I second this. I just double checked all my charges on my Amazon card from this last month and there were no interest charges.

theres a garage sale tomorrow at 9am - and there is an extra 30% clearance sale that runs today through Sunday I think.

the next coupon is the dividend event that runs March 18th-April 4th.

After that, there is the anniversary sale that I think runs May 20 - 30th.

Do you know which sale usually has better deals, the dividend event or anniversary sale?

My dividend arrived in today's mail, a nice heavy paper brochure with a desert landscape image OOF on the front with a hand holding an old faded Polaroid print of some bouldering rock climbers. Inside it says my current dividend is $1.00 even. More images in the double foldout. It does say I spent $212.17 on sale items that don't qualify.

Also it comes with a couple of 20% off coupons for March 18 - April 4.

That is the one I am looking at.

I will get a whopping $1.35 off at REI this year on any purchase.

Someone on this site recently posted a coupon code good for 40% off at bigagnes.com. Problem is the Copper Spur is currently out of stock on their website. I called them and they seemed to think they'd be getting more product in after the 1st of April.

The code works. I bought the mountain glow version because they are out of the other one. I can't wait until April I need it by March 26.

I had $0 ....... I don't shop REI......

Well one Big Agnes Mountain Glow Tent from Bigagnes.com, One Big Agnes Q Core Pad for $97.93 - 1.35 dividends from last year from REI, One leatherman tool, one dry bag and rok straps from Amazon. We are just about set for a summer of bikepacking. Need bikes tuned, and two feed bags and we are set for our first adventure.

Bike packing is a ton of fun. We have done that a time or two, a very exciting and adventurous way to travel.

I think most of our expenditures in the last year at REI were for girlfriend. She needed a new pack and some accessories. Her old pack kept blowing out, Osprey kept repairing it but it was just too old and too many miles. It was a panel loader, a style I stay away from. I talked her into a top loader and that new pack fits her so well anyway.

I know I'm late to the party on this one but I love that REI credit card. We use it on everything that we can, and typically only buy gear from REI during their sales. The benefit of having the credit card is that you still get a 5% dividend on sale items at REI and it bumps full price items to 15%. A few years back I was traveling all over the country for work and I put airfare, car rentals, hotels, meals, etc on the card. When that dividend rolled in that was most fun I have ever had at REI.
