I was just reading about some of the movies that inspire people in the Mile MIle and a Half thread.

Then Banff Film Festival (Tour) always gets me amped to get out, play, and enjoy the great outdoors (and life in general). Here's the list of Utah times and places. If you haven't been, I HIGHLY recommend it.

To whet your appetite:

are you going to banff to watch it, or are you watching it here in Utah? I'd love to go to a Utah showing.

We had a BCP Meet Up at Banff a year or two ago. I think about 10 of us met up for dinner at Red Rock and then went to the show up at the U of U. It was fun! When is it coming to SLC this year?

I was going to say, I'm pretty sure UVU does it too. Looks like it is Feb 10th and 11th for that. SLC gets it up at the U the following week.

Shows in Ogden as well at the Eygptian

Just to the local tour where they show select films. I go to the UVU one. Both nights. Tickets are on sale now and they usually sell out before the night of the show. You ought to pull the trigger for at least Tuesday night.

I have a friend who lives near Banff. Judging by the pictures she's sent me, it'd be worth going there if you can make it, especially if you can do some hiking while there. The Canadian Rockies are definitely on my list.

I just got tickets for Feb 24th out here by me. Has anyone gone yet? I'm hoping I didnt pay $19 per ticket to see videos that I've already seen on YouTube. I know I've seen a few of them already.

Nope...still a few weeks away for the Utah County shows. I'm with you...I think I've seen several of the videos already. It'll still be good even if we've seen a few!

We have it next week here in Idaho Falls, but it is a bit different than before. It is showing for two nights....but not a repeat. They have two separate nights with different flicks. Last summer was the first time they came through with a summer tour (I attended that one too).

A while back I looked into the actual film festival itself. I recall that a week-long, all events pass was >$1000 per ticket....so I gave it about 10^-8 seconds of contemplation and realized that I complain about the $15/seat price for "tidbit" showing I get in this traveling show. $1000 would get me a new, Kessler, Free Carve, Alpine snowboard :) .......so....I'll stick with the traveling show and I'll save the expense of Banff travel for sometime when I want to go carve rail-thin groves in their groomed slopes....or better yet; same traveling expense but use the $1000 to get heli-dropped for some pow runs....or.....OK, lets face it....I'll just be paying $30 for two tickets, complaining that it is pricey, picking one of the local showings, and will just have to look at pictures of Banff!

Went to Banff last night. Was a sold out crowd, a great vibe, and a great time. The videos were all really good and they only played 2 or 3 that I had already seen and those were short ones. Lots of cool giveaways (I won nothing) and raffles to benefit the NYNJTC (NY/NJ Trail Conference) which is the organization that maintains all of my local trails and makes my maps, so it was nice to see so many people come out and support this.
