I remember last year when we had this thread I was so stoked on getting the REI card to get a massive dividend like some of you. My wife did some research and shut me down on that plan. We ended up getting the Amazon card instead. I just had her count up our 'dividends' from that to make me feel better for my lousy $12 REI div. Let's just say it was a smart choice.

Dividends can be nice. Mine was 7 bucks. A little disappointing when I opened the letter, but when I realized that I only paid full price for a small amount of items, I was glad to see the $7.00. Not that I am cheap, I try to buy the best gear I can afford, I just really hate paying retail prices. If I paid full retail for everything, I'd have to work so much that I wouldn't have the time to enjoy it.

I've also been thinking about getting a two person backpacking tent...for myself. Haha! My solo tent has been good to me, but a little extra room would go a long way.

I may use it for myself...but I have an overnight backpacking trip with my girlfriend scheduled for early June that I will need it for. Hopefully more in the future after that.
