2013 Kanab Creek Backpack

Did a week long backpack with friends down Kanab Creek to the Colorado. Exited the Canyon through Deer Creek and up The Bill Hall Trail. No pics from the section along the River as it was arduous and required full attention at all times with razor sharp rock hopping for 10 miles. ( 2 days ) As always the Grand Canyon is spectacular and my photos never do it justice.

Nice hike, we were in there in early 2013 as well. We went off of Sowats to the Colorado up the Cranberry route across the Esplanade around Fishook Mesa and back up Sowats, instead of Deer Creek. (I have that post here and in trip resources). Deer creek is nice, but a long way up. We did that route years ago but started at Deer Creek. The no trail hike along the Colorado is one of the best.

Very nice. I'm hoping for a trip down Kanab Cr in the next year but we'll see how things time out. It's sweet that you trekked all the way to Deer Cr along the river. Thanks for sharing.

Which trailhead did you start at? Any idea how many miles you traveled. Great pics. Dang, I wished you had just one along the Colorado.
