    High Uintas Wilderness September 2024

Love seeing a good Uintas report. They're not quite as common as they were on here in the past. I had the same reaction as you up in the high part of Naturalist. I had it all to myself late in the season and was constantly blown away by it all. Your photos of it are great!

Wyoming rangers stop blowing up dead horses due to wildfire risk

This is quite the catchy headline! Had no idea about this practice.

Yellowstone - Black Butte Creek Day Hike

Nice! Love how quiet that corner is. I've hardly seen another person on any of the trails there.

Album BCP Swag in the Wild

Great water bottles. Still use both of mine all the time. Missed a good opportunity to take a shot of it today out working at Ruby Reservoir.

    Autumn Colors 2024

Yeah, this was our fifth year doing a trip there this time of year, and it was by far the warmest and driest I've experienced. Makes life easier, but I kinda wished it had rained or snowed just a bit. Haha.

    Autumn Colors 2024

Some subtle colors from a few days ago in the Bechler area of Yellowstone.

Riddle Lake plus some Howard Eaton - Yellowstone National Park - September 8, 2024

Great trip! And I loved the food and beverages highlights as well.

Eagle Peak - Yellowstone - Missing HIker

Sounds like it was a week-long solo trip? That's not a trip I'd be brave enough to try solo. Rainy and foggy when he summitted. Probably a pretty sketchy descent.

Hiking into Jockeybush Lake (again) in the southern Adirondacks

Beautiful! Love seeing the leaves start to go. Must have been great having that all to yourself (helicopter aside).

    Peru- Choquequirao and Beyond

Awesome trip! And that's good to know the SAR feature gets local response outside North America and Europe. Haha.

    Bechler August 2024

Congratulations! What a place to propose. This has me excited for my annual trip to the area in a little bit. A note on where you set your tent the first night. That area turns into a pond if it rains a lot. Ask me how I know. Haha. The actual designated tent site is in the meadow uphill...

Jay Creek Lollipop Loop - Teton Wilderness - July 17, 2024

I hadn't logged in since before last weekend and am late getting to this! What a route! Absolutely loved looking through. Going to have to re-read it in detail.

    Bechler Meadows off trail?

Given that many portions of Bechler Meadow have standing water year-round, I'd be hesitant to go off-trail for very long if at all. Unless you don't mind wet feet and mud. I'm just thinking of the little sections along the trail where the water is 6" deep even in late September and early...

    Bob's Follies Training Part V - Mount Nebo - July 14, 2024

I'm kicking myself this year for missing out on yet another amazing Southern Absarokas trip with you all. Let's get it next year! I'll be in the southern Madisons this weekend thinking of you all.
