    Album Home

Yes, they were going through some rough times last year or the year before. But, I think they were able to weather the worst of it and have been open this season and I believe plan to continue operating. I'm not a golfer, so I don't know the specifics, but I may have heard that they have...

Oh man, now you're making me hungry... Anaconda is a great place, too. I actually grew up halfway between Butte and Anaconda, but always considered Butte home only because that's where we ended up going for school.

Awesome! I didn't know you were a former Butte Rat. My house is somewhere down there on the bottom-left. This pic was taken on a ski tour I took this past March up to Our Lady.

El Capitan, Bitterroot Mountains, MT 08.19.2018

This is my first trip report here, hope you enjoy. Last week a friend sent me a message asking if I could get out for a hike this weekend. We had been trying to hook up for a while, but family and work obligations kept getting in the way. As luck would have it, we were both free Sunday, so we...

Wind River Range - July 2018

Great photos! I can see why your friend says it never gets old. Been on my bucket list for a while now, too, but still haven't made it happen yet.

Man, I need to find a hiking partner like @danger02ward that is willing to pack a keg up a peak for summit beers!

Zion National Park visitors rescued after mocking rangers, hiking The Subway unprepared

Oh, I've done it too. We were in Virginia for my brother's wedding a few years ago and the GPS drove me right into a restricted area on a Navy base!

Zion National Park visitors rescued after mocking rangers, hiking The Subway unprepared

This seems like a fitting entry from Ranger Kathryn's blog in the paper maps vs electronic devices debate (full disclosure; I still rely mostly on electronic devices, at least when I'm in fairly familiar territory): https://arches.wordpress.com/2016/08/01/your-gps-may-kill-you/

    The Before/After thread

After: Made it back yesterday from our trip. We did not make it to Pear Lake like we planned, as there was still too much snow in the canyon needed to access that lake. But, we stayed a little lower at Blue Lake, and made a successful summit bid on Sunday!

    The Before/After thread

    New REI return policy?

I had to do return some ski bindings twice over this past winter to the Bozeman, MT store and had mixed results. The first time I had purchased the bindings online and found out they weren't compatible with my boots so I brought them to Bozeman in hopes of exchanging them for a different brand...

A Trip Worth Taking - Emigrant Lake, CA

Great report Miya. I really like the waterfall pics. How do you get those to look so good without a tripod? One more question...in one of the pictures it looks like there is a structure on top of the peak above that lake. Is that an old lookout tower or something?

Thanks Ben. This is a pretty popular hike, but I haven't seen many other 3 year olds make it. haha :)

Album Night Shots and Star Trails

Took this two weekends ago on the Big Hole river. This is an 8 shot pano stitched in Lightroom. As I was taking the last shot a car drove by, which I thought would ruin my shot, but I kind of liked the way it helped light the trees.

    Photoshop CC crashing

Update: Like I said in that last message, I was able to download and open PS 2017. However, once I've got the program open, nothing seems to work. All of the menu options at the top are grayed out so that I can't select anything. ugh, I'm frustrated!
