    What did you buy today?

I'm with you guys, I've tried several brands of packs but my Osprey and Gregory are by far my favorites.

    What did you buy today?

That's a nice looking pack. I bought a Gregory Targhee pack last year and have been really happy with it. Looks to be a similar design to what you got, I think you'll be pretty happy carrying your skis with that pack. I have been able to carry snowshoes with mine, also.

Nick, get a cease and desist letter yet? (Backcountry.com Discussion)

This morning I received an email from Backcountry asking if I wanted to join their new "exclusive" rewards program. 10% back on full price purchases (sounds a lot like REI). I'm not sure if this is a way to turn around all the backlash from the past few weeks, or if this was part of a larger...

I finally convinced my wife of this last summer. I can't believe she had lived in Montana for this long and never taken the extra drive from Yellowstone to the Tetons.

Attempted Summit of El Capitan - Montana, Bitterroot National Forrest

Nice! I'll have to watch the whole video when I have time, but the pics are great. Looks like your planned descent route on the south side is the way I went up last year. Nice to see pics from the north side, now I want to go check it out myself!

    How to find temperature estimates?

I've been using weather.gov for a long time and it seems to be fairly accurate. I love that I can pinpoint on the map exactly where I plan to be.

    Yellowstone in Winter

I would think end of December would have plenty of snow. The area where I live usually has plenty of snow to ski and snowshoe by Christmas, and Yellowstone usually gets more snow than us, so I think you will find exactly what you are looking for. ETA: I believe you will be fine to drive to...

Nice work! How was the snowpack? We were going to attempt the NE ridge back in July, but there was still a lot of snow so we opted to climb Tempest instead. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll make it over there again this season, so hoping for another attempt next year.

Yeah, the non-technical route is the Southwest Coulier. We couldn't see any of that route, but from what I understand there is a lot of snow in the coulier this year so not many people have been up it yet.

Awesome report. My first ever backpacking trip was to Slough Creek with my older brother. What a great place!

Suggestions for 5-6 day trip in the Bob

Yeah, I think that is a fair estimate, from lows in the 30's to highs in the 80's. Up high, it might not even get above 60's or 70's. I doubt you'd see anything outside of that range, though, lower than 30 or higher than 80. Of course, it's tough to tell and you shouldn't be surprised to find...

Suggestions for 5-6 day trip in the Bob

Although I love the A-P Wilderness, I kind of agree with Outdoor_Fool that there aren't a lot of great loops to be found. If you could set up a shuttle, the CDT from Wisdom to Anaconda would be a great trip, though!
